Farewell The Past

This project is based on one of my previous projects, click on this web page to see what it looked like. On the basis of the original discussion of the relationship between humans and non-human beings, I further developed the original concept.

  • They are alienated animals, which have lost the original image of animals in nature. I tried to destroy them and burn them with fire, just as human activity does to animals in real life. In the process of being burned, the color of the dolls gradually fades to white under the influence of high temperature, which symbolizes the death of life.

  • In addition, another meaning of this project is the farewell to my undergraduate years. In the past four years, I have experienced academic and social changes. I've gained something, and I've lost something. Although these experiences were not all what I expected (or to say they are bad), they made me more resilient inside. In Chinese culture, fire means passing away. People use fire to try to communicate with people or experiences that have passed away. I expect to be reborn in the flames of the ruins and also wish I can light the flame for myself like the fire of the night.
